The photo bug bites. And it feels soooooo good.

As a follow up to the previous post, I’d just like to thank you again for listening, and providing such quality blog-therapy. I’d also like to share that the photo bug has bitten, big time. I went out on snowshoes in the aftermath of #snOMG this morning, and while I didn’t get very far, I did have some serious fun taking some shots of the boys in the yard (below).

It’s hard to put into words what a relief it is when a passion you’ve been burying, neglecting, ignoring, subsuming for years comes bubbling back up. So, if you’re burying anything that you really love, I hope you can find a way to do it.

Now, I can think of worse things than sitting in bed writing a plan as I will be doing this afternoon. But, I’d rather be out taking photos.

Peace. Spaight

Great shots Sue. I”m glad you’re feeding your soul. My dad and brother have ALWAYS had the bug. Traveling with them can test my mom and I’s patience as they stop to shoot this and that and the other thing. My mom and I don’t always see “the amazing light” or interesting angle, etc. It makes them genuinely HAPPY! We just bought my dad a TERABYTE drive just to hold all his photos. Just carry a camera everywhere Sue. Your soul will thank you. :)

Erica, thank you! hahaha I can so feel your story about your Dad and brother. Last night was “hurry up we have to go for our walk right now because the light is fading”. Photography is one of those things that can very easily cross the line from passion into obsession. In fact, right now, I’m wishing I had my camera and could go wander around downtown…there’s some great blowing snow filtering the light and making it funky. As for the dog, Fletcher Trouble McGonagall Moorhead (his full name), he thanks you for your kindness too. We really need to get together soon, missed you at the January MIMA meeting. Need to catch up on your latest adventures. -Spaight

Sue, I’ve been meaning to thank you for your last post. I so agree with the disappointment that comes with a half-assed effort – compared with the satisfaction of going all in. Got me to rethink a few things. Nice to see you’re back to pursuing your passion, with passion.

Hi, Craig, and thank you. Always great to hear that a post helps someone else get where they want to go. : ) “All in” is the only way to be! -Sue

I am going to send you some of my dad’s amateur photos of the cardinals and other birds flitting around the winter wonderland that is their yard in Minocqua. I appreciate that gift, but I don’t have it. I don’t think I have a passion that I pursue at that level. You’ve got me thinking Ms. Sue! Let’s connect soon.

Erica I looked at your Dad’s photos. Beautiful! I’ll bet you have tons of passions to choose from…
