A realist’s guide to successful social strategy

Thank you to everyone who came to my presentation at the PRSA Social Media Summit at UW-Whitewater. It was a fun day with a lot of great speakers and attendees. I welcome your feedback on the presentation in the comments: What was most helpful? What could be better?

    Hi Sue -

Just taking another look at your presentation. I’m really glad I was able to attend.

I think you give some great examples. Have you had much success in getting through to the “ineffectual cousin” types by sharing these (or similar) examples? As we all learn the ins and outs of social media, it seems like sometimes the conversion of the “ineffectual cousin” can be an extensive process.

      Hi, Kim.

Agree, the process definitely takes time, seems to be about six months of pure education, planning, and “getting used to the idea” for a lot of marketers.

It was really great finally meeting you last week at #PRSMS.

This is great. Love the mountain climbing example.. plan to rip it off ;)

Next time will you video? Slides are great but I’m sure you said a lot of really smart stuff around those slides… would like to have had that too.

Thanks, Tom. I will try to videotape it next time so you can see all my foibles. Yesterday, when I presented it for the second time, I was talking about the Pedigree pet food example, and said something about how it gave them a “leg up”. Totally unplanned pun, got a good laugh. I’ll take what I can get ; )
